FOCUS (Families OverComing Under Stress) is an evidence-based, skill-building group for parents and caregivers. This 7-session series provide training in the core skills of:

What is FOCUS?
FOCUS is an evidence-based, skill-building parent education curriculum designed to help parents develop the skills necessary to cope with life's stresses and challenges. Parents will learn how to regulate emotions, use effective communication, set goals, problem-solve and manage stress and trauma reminders.
When will it be?
Time: 8:30 am to 10:00 am
10/04/24- Emotion regulation: understanding your child's emotions
10/11/24- Communication strategies for talking with your children (1:00-2:30)
10/18/24-Problem solving: Working it out as a family
10/25/24- Keeping it in perspective: Developing a family narrative
11/01/24- Overcoming adversity- Parenting with physical and emotional challenges
11/08/24- Keeping your cool and Effective Goal Setting
11/15/24- Review, wrap-up, receive certificate
Do I need to attend all 7 sessions?
No, you don't have to attend all of the sessions, but it is highly recommended so that you learn all of the skills taught.
